SME AVIATION  has set up a subsidiary to repair & overhaul Allison T-56/501 engines for C-130/L100. The facility is functional since early 1997, is fully certified by Rolls Royce as a Branch Maintenance Center for Allison T56/501 engine and also by The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) as its authorized Maintenance Contractor. Recently, AIROD Turbopower was awarded a RM10 million maintenance contract by the Government of Malaysia. 

Support Workshop:

SME AVIATION capabilities are backed by extensive support facilities including Electro-plating processes, heat-treatment, flame spray, shot peening, Nelding/brazing, various non-destructive testing processes, chemical/mechanical cleaning processes, rework machineries, hydraulic shop and a modern and well equipped in-house calibration facility for repair and calibration of precision electronic and dimensional equipment. 

Component Workshop:

Performs inspection, repair, overhaul and functional testing of gearboxes, transmission, hydraulic systems, landing gear systems, air conditioning and all related components. Current capability is for more than 3,000 components.

Non Destructive Testing (NDT):

Calibration Services:

Performs calibration and repair of electronic and mechanical precision measurement equipment traceable to national and international standards.

Avionics Component workshop:

Performs inspection and repair for civil and military avionics and electronics equipment that includes:

.Ground Support.
